The Role
The main responsibilty is to maintain IT Network/Infrastructure and rectifying all level 1 faults.
Must have hands on experience with Unix (Solaris 8,9,10 & Redhat Server 4-5) with 2-3 yrs experience and proven experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008.
Key understanding of IT environment both hardware & applications.
Monitoring various Network infrastructure / application elements by multiple Network Management Systems.
Liaising with appropriate next level support staff and other departments to resolve major problems where required.
Assisting and supporting in planned outages, network hazards and permits to work when necessary.
Maintaining fault restoration times.
Shift work will be required as part of this role.
Required Skills
3-6 years IT experience, with a general understanding within the areas of technical involvement, including network management, equipment configuration and fault resolution processes
1-2 years of experience working in Unix & Linux environment (i.e Solaris 8,9,10 ; Red Hat Enterprise Server 4-5 )
Unix hardware maintenance experience Unix DNS changes
Good general knowledge of IT technology on operating systems, Database and application level i.e. Windows, Solaris, Citrix, Oracle, Clarify, Unix, Servers, VPN
Proven experience with Windows Server 2003 and 2008.
