Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Finance (DOF) is a member of the regional management team. The successful candidate will manage the region’s Finance team and oversee and direct all financial operations, corporate financial planning and analysis. He will be responsible for developing and implementing finance processes and programs while effectively supporting the CFO and Managing Director. This senior leadership position provides high-level solution-driven expertise and continuously promotes excellence as established in the company vision, mission and value.
Responsibilities:
Financial and Operational Management:
Technical
- Accountable for the Asia region’s financial integrity, performance and its reporting.
- Lead and direct the overall financial management and Asia Pacific business – general accounting, accounts receivables, credit control, management accounting, corporate tax, internal controls and corporate governance.
- Manage the strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting process. budgetary planning, account monitoring and costs management in alignment of the strategic plan of the Company
- Establish and sustain the company’s financial policies, guidelines and procedures which are consistent with Global.
- Evaluate and approve within corporate limits Asia pacific investments including capital expenditure plans. If necessary, develop project expenditure requests for executive management approvals.
- Regulate, supervise and implement a timely, full and accurate set of accounting books of the Company subject to internal guidelines set by the CFO.
- Manage, execute and ensure accuracy of all aspects of the company’s financial reporting activities in compliance with applicable standards and policies.
- Prepare and present annual budget, financial plans, business plans, feasibility studies investments and all other financial and business documents as may be required by the executive and/or management team.
- Provide senior level, solution-driven Finance counsel to the regional and global senior management team.
- Implement effective cash flow management for Asia Operations including forecasting for the region.
- Evaluate new Asia payment processors and maintain and improve existing payment processors and transaction flows
Business Partnering / Strategic
- Collaborate and provide support to the CFO and other Senior Finance team members with regards to the Finance strategy and objectives
- As a member of the Asia Pacific leadership team, provide value added perspectives and initiate any actions to ensure the company’s short term and long term profit and growth.
- Lead the development of Strategic Business Plan and Annual Business Plan, through establishing effective processes and orchestrating all affiliates/functions; ensures sound plans to grow shareholders value and secure approval from Global to meet long-term business goals.
- Provide financial and business analyses which are relevant, insightful and actionable perspectives on key business issues, including sources of value creation modeling, competitive analyses, evaluation of current business portfolio, NPV, Cost/Benefit Analyses, and development of industry benchmark study.
- Through broad and thorough understanding of the business and financial implications, provide advice to the Asia Pacific Managing Director and senior leadership on company’s critical business issues.
- Maximize opportunities and minimize risks through development of contingency plans and risk management.
Organisational
- Develop and enhance finance & business support system to effectively support business needs and management decisions.
- Lead and build a high performance finance team, relevant to business needs, through appropriate organizational structure, training and development and succession planning. Provide a high level of mentoring and coaching to people in the department
Team Management:
This position will be responsible for the Regional Finance & Purchasing department
- Mentor, motivate and develop a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
Qualifications:
- A Certified Public Accountant/ Chartered Accountants (CA/CPA/ACCA) is required
- MBA or Masters in Financial Management highly preferred;
- A minimum of 10 years of broad finance experience (i.e. Accounting, Auditing & Financial Analysis and ideally M&A experience) in a senior level role, gained from a multinational company with diverse, division- based organizational set up
- Significant experience in fast paced industrial or manufacturing corporation, preferably from one of the Fortune 500 companies, is an asset
- Strong decision making, problem solving, highly analytical, research and organizational skills
- An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information
- A self-starter, hands on and mature leader, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner to the CFO and Managing Director of a multi-divisional organisation
- Demonstrated flexibility to shift from strategic to tactical work depending on the situation and role required.
- Experience dealing with cross-border issues arising from international business functions
- Strong consultative, relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills in dealing with all levels of management in a multi and matrix company/organization structure
